Giacometti. The soul of the Twentieth Century. Sculptures, paintings, drawings

The works of Alberto Giacometti, swiss sculptor and painter, will be exhibited at the MAGA museum of Gallarate, from 6 March to 5 June 2011.
The show is by Michael Peppiat, author of the book "In Giacometti's studio" that holds inside the result of careful researches conducted in the archive of the artist's family.
Some works (the most part) come from the inheritor's private collection, others from "Gnam" of Rome and from a private collection. They trace the whole way in the artistic career of Giacometti.
The sculptures reproduce in particular the artist's family. Giacometti, in the '40, goes through a "reduction" phase of human figure: the figures are very thin, reduced at the minimum.
Works realized after the war and paintings are also shown.
During the show visitors will hear Giacometti's voice that will explain them the works through interview's extracts.
